Abstract

The analogy between art and nature is basic in Aristotle's work, but he keeps it from degenerating into an identity. We explore the differences between artificial and natural processes.

Notes

Jerry Clegg presented "On Natural and Unnatural Arts" at the Society's meeting with the Pacific Division of the American Philosophical Association in Spring 1983. As far as we can tell, it has not been published otherwise. Jerry Clegg is Professor Emeritus at Mills College.
