Assemblywoman Lupardo gave a rousing speech about the powerful statement we made by showing up in such large numbers, voting with our feet, and she gave us further actions we could take -- legislation to support, people to contact -- to continue our engagement in politics and resistance to the negative changes on the national horizon.

I marched because of the negative, hateful, divisive language that spewed from Donald Trump and the threat he and those who supported him posed to all I feel this country stands for. I needed to see that I was not alone, and to be there so that others saw me and knew they were not alone, either.
