This short article on family living appeared in Broome County Living magazine, published by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, New York, and is part of a collection of such articles available on the Open Repository at Binghamton University. Framed by the story of a local mother of a toddler returning to the workforce, this article explores challenges and issues that working parents, primarily mothers, face. Coping strategies and resources are offered. Sidebars titled “Workers and Their Children” and “”Not for Women Only” expand the scope of information presented.
