The title of my capstone is The New York City Maternal Health Oral History Project. The main goal of my project was to bring attention to the experiences of expectant/new mothers during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and service gaps before, during, and after childbirth. Although vastly different, together, the stories highlighted how nuanced and ever changing social structures and policies create the space for inequalities to persist and further disenfranchise vulnerable communities with little to no accountability.
