Notes
Examining "ideas" in the fragments of the Eudemus, the Categories, Metaphysics Lambda and Zeta, and others, we show that in these passages Aristotle does not absolutely deny the chorismos of the eide. He denies it relatively and affirms it relatively. Only a failure to analyze the problem will lead one to assert that Aristotle always accepted Plato's theory of transcendent Ideas, or that Aristotle never accepted it. One is no more tenable than the other.
